Master of Science Program
The primary objective of the graduate
program is to train specialists and/or theoreticians (required for research and
teaching) in geodesy, capable of creative and original thinking and
disseminating new ideas and concepts in related activities in Turkey. Graduate
program leading to the Master of Science degrees in Geodesy normally involves
two years of graduate work and includes,
a) A minimum number of 24 credits of course work to be completed in two
successive semesters,
b) A thesis to be completed in the following two semesters.
The objectives of the courses offered are to provide the student with the necessary knowledge
and skills for such geodetic activities as
- treatment of the existing national geodetic control networks,
- geodetic applications gobal, regional and local geodynamic programs (especially in earthquake studies), and
- detection and monitoring of deformations of very large structures.
